Doc. Petr Dvořák was inaugurated as rector

On Friday, April 22, 2022, the ceremonial inauguration of the new Rector of the Prague University of Economics and Business, doc. Petr Dvořák, took place in the Vencovského Auditorium. He took over a symbolic Rector´s chain from the hands of the Chairman of the Academic Senate of VŠE Marek Stříteský. The ceremony was attended by a number of senior academics and the public sphere, as well as members of diplomatic missions. Representatives of major companies were also present. Among the guests were, of course, members of the academic community of VŠE and students.

In his ceremonial speech, the Rector thanked the previous Rector, Prof. Hana Machková, current colleagues and his family for their support and stated the priorities for his term.

Rector Emeritus prof. Hana Machková in her speech, looked back at her work and described her successor as hardworking and honest.

At the end of the ceremony, the rector symbolically introduced five Vice-Rectors into office. Newly appointed Vice-Rectors are:

  • Pavel Hnát – Vice-Rector for Education and Quality Assurance, Statutory Deputy Rector
  • Hana Machková – Vice-Rector for International Relations
  • Ota Novotný – Vice-Rector for Development and Corporate Relations
  • Martin Lukeš – Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies
  • Milan Nidl – Vice-Rector for Informatics and Digitisation
