ŠKODA AUTO at VŠE: Roadshow and Lecture on Cooperation in International Teams

On Thursday, 14 May 2026, the Prague University of Economics and Business hosted an inspiring afternoon in cooperation with VŠE’s strategic partner, ŠKODA AUTO.

The programme combined an expert lecture for students with an informal roadshow on campus. At 2:30 p.m., a lecture by Ing. Jan Chmelík, Head of Organization Development and HR Management at ŠKODA AUTO, took place in cooperation with the Faculty of International Relations of VŠE as part of the course International Negotiation and Protocol. The lecture focused on effective cooperation in international teams.

Students gained practical insight into the operations of one of the most important Czech companies and learned more about how cooperation works in an international environment, what role cross-team communication plays, and which competencies are important for successful work in a global organization. Although the lecture was primarily intended for students enrolled in the course, it was also open to other interested VŠE students.

The programme also included the ŠKODA Roadshow, which took place in front of the atrium of the Rajská Building. Students had the opportunity to meet representatives of ŠKODA AUTO from various areas, learn more about career opportunities, specific job roles, and everyday work in an international company. At the Coffee Car Elroq, they could also enjoy coffee and discuss their future career prospects in an informal atmosphere.

The event was also commented on by the Head of the VŠE Partnership Centre, Ing. Dennis Billík, MBA, LL.M., MSc.:

“Activities like this confirm the importance of strategic partnerships in connecting the academic environment with practice. Thanks to our cooperation with ŠKODA AUTO, students have the opportunity to meet experts from the corporate environment, broaden their understanding of current practical topics, and gain a better overview of possible directions for their future careers.”
